Balls, y'all!

Chocolate protein balls, that is 😂✌🏼

The kids are on a really great schedule at the new school, forcing us to be more scheduled and organized (even more than before...shocking, I know). We have to have things like lunches packed, and after school snacks ready....we weren't SUPER prepared for this at first. #thanksgoldfish (seriously, though. goldfish fixes #allthethings)

One of my favorite products Young Living introduced in 2016 was their protein powder. Vanilla Spice and Chocolate Deluxe-- 5 kinds of protein (whey, goat whey, pea, egg white, and hemp seed), only 9g of sugar per serving (2 large scoops), and FREAKING 25g of protein. ALSO, it's quite literally the only protein powder I've ever tried (and omg have I tried A MILLION) that doesn't have ONE. BIT. of an aftertaste.

We've always made the kids smoothies with the protein (they love both vanilla and chocolate), but it's such a freakin mess, y'all. There's NO QUESTION someone will always spill it EVERYWHERE. I've always been interested in easy "no-bake" things, because let's face it....
I DON'T COOK. It aint happenin.
Brandon came up with this recipe and it's our go-to after school snack! (also, I could eat 1,000...)

+ 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
+ 1/2 cup YL chocolate deluxe protein powder
+ 1/2 tsp cinnamon
+ 1/2 cup smooth natural peanut butter (or any nut butter)
+ 3 T natural honey
+ 1 tsp vanilla extract
+ 1/3 cup chocolate chips
+ 2-4 T coconut milk
+ 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
(chia seeds optional, too, but we ran out...)

  1. Add oats, protein powder, and cinnamon to a large bowl.
  2. Add in peanut butter, honey and vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
  3. Add in chocolate chips. Mixture should be slightly sticky but still crumbly.
  4. Slowly add in coconut milk 1 tablespoon at a time and using hands (get yo hands dirty!) combine until it comes together in a sticky ball that holds together. If mixture is too dry, add in more liquid but not so much that it won't hold shape.
  5. Roll into balls using hands.
  6. Place in a container to set in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Store in fridge until ready to eat.

SO EASY. Legit, 10 mins.

Do your babies drink Ningxia Red??

First, let me preface by saying I'm using the term "babies" realllllll loosely here. It could be your ACTUAL babies, or fur babies, or 30year old babies, or baby daddies....You choose ;) But really, Do your babies drink Ningxia Red??

BECAUSE THEY SHOULD! Here are the top 10 reasons I feed my babies their "ninja joose" every morning:

1. Balanced ingredients make Ningxia Red a whole-body nutrient for health and wellness support.

2. It is helpful for energy support-- prevents what I like to call the "pre lunch toddler crash" or if you're lucky enough to get the "I decided to skip nap and am in full meltdown mode" toddler, it can help with that, too!

3. Ningxia Red supports normal cellular function. ((This one is HUGE for kids-- all of their cells are still developing and multiplying!!))

4. It contains powerful ingredients that are involved in many natural antioxidant processes.

5. It supports normal eye health.

6. It contains citrus essential oils containing d-limonene-- IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS ELEMENT DOES FOR YOUR BODY, #GOOGLEIT. It'll literally blow your mind.

7. This incredible formula includes the wolfberry, which is hailed for its health benefits. "The health benefits of wolf (or "goji") berry include the control of diabetes, the lowering of cholesterol, free radical scavenging, cardiovascular protection, possible cancer control, protection of brain cells, protection of the liver and skin protection from UV radiation. It also helps in improving eyesight, general well-being and strengthening the immune system"

8. NingXia Red helps prevent against oxidative stress. "Oxidative stress, defined as a disturbance in the balance between the production of reactive oxygen species (free radicals) and antioxidant defenses, is discussed in relation to its possible role in the production of tissue damage in diabetes mellitus."*

9. It is a healthy daily supplement that fortifies and revitalizes the body.

10. 1 ounce of NingXia Red has more antioxidants than eating 8 oranges, 4 lbs of carrots, 2 cups of blueberries, 2 cups of raspberry and you get the picture. ya know, for those times your kid refuses all food but Dino shaped chicken nuggs that you're not even sure is real meat.....

For Stella, we put 1 oz of Ningxia in a shot glass and splash some water in there. She gulps it down every morning. The trips drink 2 oz straight from the shot glass now (),  but we started them with the same thing as Stella from the age of 9ish months on.

Also, #thatsideeye. #fourthkid knows how to hold her ground, obvs.

And she has to since she's about to be the middle child to 3yo triplets and a newborn.

Young Living really nailed this supplement making it both incredibly healthy and incredibly delicious. and BONUS! you can add any vitality essential oils to your NR to change the flavor! I will add orange, jade lemon, and grapefruit most days!

Cheers to Monday!

First Trimester Tricks of the trade

Ok, so now that the secret is out-- (Baby Garay #5 is due this Summer!!) -- I've had SO many people ask me how I am getting through the first trimester with so many little ones and so much energy.

My Secret? Ningxia Red. Well, really it's the combo of Ningxia Red, Ningxia Zyng and Ningxia Nitro every morning.

Wait, let me back up a second. So in all three pregnancies, the MOMENT I pee on that stick, coffee is a no-go. I can't handle the smell, let alone the damn taste (oh my gosh just typing about it makes me wanna vom). So, I've had to resort to new things to get me through 12 entire weeks of a coffee-less life (plus the rest of a pregnancy of decreased caffeine intake).

Enter: Young Living. OH DEAR BABY JESUS how I wish I had this stuff with the triplets' pregnancy. My life would have been CHANGED. But, there's no use in harping on the past. *le sigh*

So, Ningxia Red is Young Living's antioxidant drink. It's a combination of juices and oils, with the main ingredient being from the WolfBerry (you can read about the Wolfberries benefits here). It's been INCREDIBLE for keeping sustained energy, decreasing the number of headaches I get (thanks 1st trimester + caffeine withdrawal!) and helping me keep up with these other 4 hoodlums! Ningxia Zyng is a different soda blend of the same kinds of things in NR and Ningxia Nitro is like the concentrated version, but all three are different blends of the same incredible product.

The REAL secret though? putting ALL THREE together in one glass and #boom.

One of Young Living's Corporate guys calls it the "Zyng Bomb" and it's basically the greatest thing to happen to my sanity.

Also, it's widely known that Progesterone is VITAL in the first trimester for fetal development and throughout the pregnancy to maintain a supportive environment for the growing babe! So, I've been SUPER thankful to get some natural progesterone support from Progessence Plus. It's an oil blend with Frankincense and wild yam extract (plus so many others) that I roll on my forearms every night. Benefits: mood stabilizing, sleep promoting, and progesterone boosting! Y'all! Seriously! this stuff couldn't get any better!

Smooth sailing through this first trimester (Four more weeks left! Hallelujah!) and beyond! I cannot wait to meet this sweet little #fifthbabe <3

Also, some other things I from beginning and end and after for all those postpartum daze are: Super B (sustained energy from B vitamins), Multigreens (because a girls gotta poo), Mineralessence, Mindwise, and Life 9 probiotics!

Happy Hump Day!

Go the **** to sleep| sleepy cream recipe

#1. Has everyone seen the book, "Go the F ck to sleep"??

THIS is the link to it. It's incredible.

#2. If that book doesn't work for you EVERYTIME to get your darlings to bed, maybe try this incredible cream that I got from Jill Macnab (an amazing photog, oil rep, and survival training mama) and her awesome blog!!

Sprout and Honey is one of my favorite blogs to get Essential Oil recipes from. My FAVORITE OF ALL TIME is the sleep cream she posted!! It takes maybe 5 mins to make. If you have a kitchen aid mixer + the arm strength to lift a little tiny bottle, you're golden. If all you've got is a hand mixer or a spoon--it'll take a little more effort, but you'll get there.

The Recipe:

1 1/4 cups Coconut oil (preferably organic and solid)

1 1/4 cups Shea butter (I get mine from amazon)

10 drops Lavender oil (100% therapeutic grade EO)

10 drops Cedarwood oil (100% therapeutic grade EO)

Beat the Shea and Coconut together for 5 mins until its creamy smooth Add in the EOs Beat for another 3-5mins Spoon into mason jars Put on bottoms of feet, back of neck, ALL OVER YOURSELF for an amazing nights sleep.

Did you know?...

The aroma and chemical molecules of cedarwood actually relaxes the entire nervous system and the pineal gland, which releases melatonin. UMMM gettin' me some zzzz's. Yes. Please.

Both lavender and cedarwood are also amazing skin healers. Which is why I COAT Liv in it, and BOOM. no more rough spots, no more dryness. thank you, oh naturale. 3 different steroid creams couldn't do that.

Just thought I'd share the wealth of info, as I make a whole new batch tonight for my fam.

Don't have your oils yet?? Get started here:

Hope everyone's start to March was Fab! We spent ours lounging on the couch in a partied out daze binge watching House of Cards. :)

Prepping for the plague.

And, NO! I do NOT mean EBOLA!Being in The Army we have had to sit through ridiculous briefs on ebola and I'm just SO SICK of hearing about it!! I'm talkin' about the more pressing illnesses that arrive around September/October and don't go away until March/April. The Flu, RSV, and many other illnesses that, whether we like it or not, take the lives of so many people every single year.

and HOW is the Garay clan dealing with these things, you ask?! (well 1st, we alllll got our flu shot!)

oily goodness_edited-1Yes, yes, and more yes. So much goodness to be had.

Ya'll I'm so madly in love with my essential oils it SICKENING! People at work and home make fun of me because the MOMENT you open your mouth and ask me what that little makeup bag of bottles that look like nail polish's on. oils "here's this one, and this one, and this one, OH and smell THIS ONE!" My main squeeze this fall is my Thieves oil. I posted a month or two ago about how I made teething cream with it! Well, it's a HUGE germ fighter. My main two uses for ANY oils in my house are diffusing and topical. I make lotions with coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or vitamin e oil and rub on our feet, neck, back, chest, face, etc. + ALL DAY we diffuse something.

Favorites to diffuse in the Nursery: Purification + Lemon Purification + Lavender Lavender + Peace & Calming Thieves + Lemon

Purification does exactly what it sounds like it does. It purifies. It smells clean and it cleans. Awesome Thieves kills. germs. Like kills them dead. It kills mold, airborne illnesses...hello! (the flu, rsv...) Lemon is also a germ fighter. oh but it purifies, lifts the mood, increases energy, freshens stinky stuff (like laundry that SOMONE ...jack... tend to poop all over) Peace & Calming is a blend that, well, does exactly what it says. Preserves whatever shred of peace and calming we may have in this household. Lavender--now this one is huge. If you want to discuss ALL its uses then video chat me for like two hours. It promotes relaxation and restful sleeping, reduces allergy symptoms, relaxes the mind and body, heals dry/chapped/irritated skin. The uses are endless. I have a roller bottle of lavender and vitamin e oil that I rub on my c-section incision daily. The itching is basically gone and it's fading by the day.

Those are just a few of my favorites. B constantly tells me I smell like a tree. Or Christmas. hahaha! I put Purification and Frankincense on my face after washing morning and night. Apparently that combo smells like Christmas? Dang. Christmas smells freakin awesome to me!!! I'll take it!

Favorites for me and B: Purification for acne Valor + Peppermint + Panaway for aches and pains Peppermint + Panaway for headaches Lemon + Joy + Purification diffused for energy and lifted spirits Lavender on our pillows for a restful nights' sleep Thieves in coconut oil on the bottom of our feet for boosted immunity

But, theres so many things that you can do with the oils and now that PINTEREST is a thing, my options are ENDLESS. Next oil projects: 1. making chapstick out of lavender, honey, beeswax, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and vitamin e oil.  (chapstick recipe here) 2. making cough drops with Honey, Thieves, and Lemon!!!!! (cough drop recipe here)

Wish me luck! We all know I'm no chef. haha let's see how I do cooking up some oily goodness :)

10524330_10152339999743227_4111786990430024133_n And, we all know, it's hard for me to get by without a little help from Ryan Gosling. (refer to this post: thank you ryan gosling)

I am so thankful I have found my oils! Having preemie babies is scary. But, preemie babies during flu season?! ugh. double ugh. I don't want to lockdown our house this winter! I just don't! So, I will come up with every Essential Oil recipe I can to get me through!

Just know--every single year around this time I am usually a runny nose, congested mess. It just happens to me when seasons change. Always, always. BUT NOT THIS YEAR! Not a stuffed nose or congested sinus or sore throat in sight. And I plan to keep it that way!

PS. If you smell something funky at's me. the En-R-Gee oil makes me smell heinous. no joke. I smell like I haven't showered in a few days. HAHAHA! I have to mix it with lemon or something for it to be bearable.

Ok, If you have made it through this jumbled mess, then dear Lord you're fabulous. and you deserve an adorable photo, so here ya go

IMG_9104 Hi, Im Clara Jane and I just reluctantly woke up from a sweet, sweet nap.

Have a happy week! I've started mine with some Joy over my heart. <3
