Hello, Germany.

Well hello there! It's been quite some time since I've blogged. The whole "packing the family, somehow making it across the Atlantic ocean alive with the babies winning 3-2, living out of a hotel, not having a license or a car for a week, and having to start work at 5am the day after flying in" thing has been    -- how to put this lightly--    extremely overwhelming. haha

But, for real. We have had THE WORST internet. I wrote an entire blog post a week ago with photos and all, and the internet wouldn't load it so I gave up. Let's see if this one works.

I'd like to formally introduce you to our Summer Au Pairs, Lizzy and Carla!! (how have we had 1st time luck with BOTH places we have lived + picking a nanny?!) image3

I know their families from High School, and the timing worked out amazingly well. They'll be here until August helping us with babies and traveling Europe! It's awesome to have people around our kids that are thoroughly excited to be caring for them!!!

I'm so happy they're here with us because it's forcing us to GET UP AND GO! So, since their first weekend in Europe is a 4-day, we decided to take day trips Friday, Saturday + Sunday!

Friday we went to Heidelberg, Germany. Today we visited Trier, Germany (the oldest city in Germany with a gate still standing from the 2nd century), and tomorrow we are going to a Festival of the Feast of Pentecost in Wissembourg, France!!!

Carla has been our steps keeper, haha and we are averaging 14,000-17,000 a day WITH babies strapped to us! I'm completely over and done with the stupid Kinder-wagon double umbrella stroller and am flat-out refusing to travel with it. IT'S THE WORST THING EVER. Ugh. So, we swap off baby-wearing all day. It works, for now!

image2We've also found a house, so now it's just a waiting game to see when our Household goods will get here. Let's hope we are only in this hotel room for another week!

Oh, and I got to teach myself how to drive a stick-shift while leaving the parking lot of the rental car place on Monday. Let me tell you, these last two weeks have been a LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR SUUUURRREEE.

Time to start planning our European Bucket List! (probably should have done this BEFORE actually moving here)

Here are some things off the top of my head: || THE ORIGINAL IKEA || Barcelona, Spain || San Tornini + Athens, Greece (before it disappears foreverrrrrrrrrr) || Prague || Normandy on it's Anniversary || Paris (Disneyland, duh) (just kidding, we can see other things) (NOT) || Copenhagen || The Northern Lights in either Norway or Iceland || Madrid || Bruge + Brussels, Belgium || Amsterdam || Auschwitz-Birkenau, Poland + Dachau, Germany || Lyon, France || Heerlen, Netherlands to see where Brandon was born

Hit me with your best shots!!! I wanna hear the BEST trips of your life, so I can take them too!!!
