The FINAL Countdown--35 till 35!!!!!

PEOPLE. WE HAVE MADE IT TO THE BIG 3-0. And, no. I don't mean my age. I'm still the ripe ole age of 25 :). I MEAN-WE ARE OFFICIALLY 30 WEEKS!!!!!! WAHOO.

Note: stretch marks have arrived. Couldn't avoid them forever. That just means I've got some chunky babies, which I'm happy about!!

Lots of updates from the last week. Here we go.

So, I retook the 1hr glucose tolerance test and failed it. Boo- which means I had to take the 3hr glucose tolerance test {drink double the sugar and get labs drawn at 1hr, 2hrs, and 3hrs after} and failed that MISERABLY. haha My 1hr lab draw was 197 and my 2hr was 229!!! So, I'm officially a Gestational Diabetic. Kind of to be expected though---I have three placentas producing hormones that can block insulin production. So, now I have to get my finger poked at 6am and 2hrs after I start every meal. Not too bad-I've passed every single one since this started Saturday. So, I'll probably just be diet controlled until these babies come. UNFORTUNATELY, I'll have to really watch what I eat which isn't the best for me since I have only gained 17lbs since this pregnancy started. Boo. We will see what happens.

Apparently my uterus is ready for this to be over. Thank goodness the babies have a different plan. Thursday night I started contracting regularly again. I was transferred to labor and delivery and monitored for the next 36hours. All day Friday I contracted about every 2-4mins. Horribly painful. I definitely thought it was baby birthdays. Ouch. This was my contraction pattern at some point on Saturday-

Fun for everyone else though--they gave me some medication on Thursday night to help space out contractions....let's just say I was in RARE form. Of course Brandon caught it ALL ON VIDEO. He's the lovingest of husbands. :P

For your enjoyment and my pure embarrassment:

I took some more medication on Friday night to help me get some sleep because I was seriously lacking, and my contractions started dying down. By the time I woke up Saturday they were about 6 minutes apart and slowly got further and further apart as the morning went on. By lunchtime on Saturday they were about 30mins to an hour apart. During this entire ordeal my cervix never changed. I have now confirmed I have a steel cervix. haha But, they eventually moved me back to an Antepartum room Saturday after lunch and contractions are back to being irregular. PHEW!

FUNNY side story-- My Mom was also convinced Friday was Baby-Havin day so she jumped in the car and got to Fayetteville Friday night. She drove straight to the hospital and when she got here she went to the security desk to sign in. Here is her conversation with the security guard:

Security Guard: "What room is your daughter in?"
Mom: "I'm not sure, she's on labor and delivery."
Security Guard: "What is her last name?"
Mom: "Garay"
Security Guard: "Oh! Congratulations! She just had her baby!!"
Mom: *drops everything in her hands & leans closer to desk* "Excuse me, WHAT?"
Security Guard: "Yea, She just delivered her baby"
Mom: *In obvious freak out voice* "Well I hope she had three!!"
Security Guard: "No, no, looks like just one."
Mom: " IM SORRY, WHAT?!?!?!"
Security Guard: "Ummm what's her name again?"
Mom: "GA-RAY"
Security Guard: "oh...my fault. Wrong girl."

HAHAHAHA. Awesome.

This last week I would definitely be totally lost and nervous if it wasn't for my Mother in law, Beth!! She arrived a week after I was admitted and has been a serious savior. She's taking care of the house and Bear so that Brandon can leave work and come see me in the hospital everyday. She's amazing. And now I have her AND my mom! It's kind of frightening what is getting accomplished in my house....but, it's definitely needed. They are amazing.
